Job opportunities

In the beginning, the job scope of a Handy app pro was vague. As the company grew, the scope of the job expanded, as did the number of tasks. Some tasks became too difficult for the handy app. New York-based handy workers wanted more career growth than the company was able offer. This was detracting from the other aspects of the business such as marketing. This platform had to support hundreds of thousands customers and cleaners. It received 10k calls per week.

FAQ

How can I find a reliable handyman?

Before hiring a handyman, you should always verify references. Ask your family and friends if they have ever used them. You can also look online for handymen's reviews.

Where are handymen from?

There are thousands upon thousands of handymen all over the U.S. but nearly none started as contractors. Most began their career as a tradesman and were taught how to do certain things by apprenticeships. Because of this, many have great skills and vast knowledge that can be a huge asset to any company.

How often should I use a handyman for my job?

It all depends upon the nature of your job. One handyman might be enough to do a basic job like changing a bulb or fixing a leak. If there are many remodeling tasks involved, however, you might need several handymen.

What are the top handyman repairs you can do?

Handymen can repair damaged roofs or windows, doors and gutters. When it comes to building or home improvement projects that cannot be performed by DIY homeowners, handymen can help with carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall installation, landscaping, concrete work, fence construction, decking, tiling, and more.

Is it worthwhile to spend more money on professional handyman services?

It depends entirely on the project. For complex projects, such as an office renovation or construction project, a professional handyman would be a great option.

Who will do my handyman project?

A professional handyman is the best choice if you need someone to do a single job like fixing a faucet or replacing a light fixture. A handyman service might be a good option if you have multiple jobs to do, such as replacing a roof or installing floor tiles.

If you are looking for someone who can offer ongoing support, such as regular maintenance, then you probably want to use a handyman service like Handyman Services.

What happens if a handyman causes me damage or doesn't do his job as I would like?

It is your responsibility to notify your client immediately if any problems arise during the project. It's best to write down exactly what happened and include photos of the problem area. Next, contact your insurance company and file for a claim.

How To

How do I replace a cracked window?

The most common home improvement task is to replace broken windows. Repairing damage to glass within your home is the task. This repair will take only 30 minutes. You could end up causing more damage to your house if you don't know the best way to replace a damaged pane. This article contains some tips to help you replace a damaged window.

First step: Take the glass out of its frame

To remove the old windowpane, you will first need to take out the screws that held it in place. The lock located at the top middle of the bottom portion of the window frame must be undone. Next, lift the window slightly up so that it is no longer attached the sill plate (the steel bar at the floor). Finally, use a pry tool to carefully loosen the remaining screws until they pop out of their holes. After the panes are taken off, thoroughly clean them.

Second step: Clean the new glass

Use a dry paper towel or cloth to remove any dirt from the glass. A spray bottle filled with water, rubbing alcohol and water can be used to clean debris stuck beneath the glass.

Third Step: Reinstall the replacement glass

Then, attach the window panes back into the frames. Start by pushing down on the lower edge of the outermost pane with the tip of a screwdriver. Gently push the pane back into the opening in the frame. Next, insert the next pane by pressing it against the first pane. Continue inserting the panes until the entire window is assembled. You can seal the gap between the panes with a silicone caulk gun.

Fourth Step: Repair the area damaged

To determine if additional repairs are necessary, inspect the area surrounding the hole before installing the glass. Inspect the area around the window for cracks near the corners. If so, add two small pieces wood to each side. These wooden blocks will give strength to the window and act as spacers between the glass and the weatherproofing material.

Fifth step: Seal the repaired area

After replacing the glass, you can apply silicone caulking along the perimeter edges to the window frame. This will create a good seal between the glass and the surrounding wallboard. You can buy silicone caulking online or at hardware shops. It is important to match the color of the walls with silicone caulking.

Finally, let the caulking cure overnight. Once the caulking is fully set, don't disturb it. You may crack the caulking by not waiting long enough.
